About a bus

Posted by Mr Rod McNeill (Principle) | Found in: Leadership Blog

Recently the SCEA Board agreed to support us in buying a bus and providing local services to the school.

This is something I have been working towards for a considerable amount of time. I am very grateful to the Board for their decision.

We will be buying a bus that will provide two services:

1. A morning and evening route from Kalamunda Christian School through Helena Valley and suburbs to the west of MCC, to both our campuses.
2. Charter bus providing a morning and evening service to students that live East of our campuses. This bus will provide a shuttle to and from our campuses during the day.

I will be able to give you more details about the exact routes as these are formalized.

We have been working on the details quickly and steadily. There is much to be done. We need to source and purchase a bus, arrange maintenance contracts, drivers, and best practice for use. We need to source and arrange contracts for a service provider.

The establishing of these routes will finally provide our college community with the opportunity to bus to school. We believe this will help both campuses grow by providing a well needed amenity to our families. Furthermore, it will provide families from Kalamunda Christian School a caring, connected, and assured alternative opportunity for Secondary school at our College, which has a shared ethos and hills environment.

I know this is long awaited good news. I will provide more details as our plans develop.

Elke Blight is working regularly on bringing this to fruition with her usual dedication and thoroughness. The timing of these routes coming to fruition is as soon as possible. I’ll keep you posted.
