Last Thursday evening, Primary parents were ‘students for an evening’ when they took part in an interactive workshop to launch the FORM ‘Building a State of Creativity’ artist in residence project at the College.
This was a fantastic night for parents and teachers to hear from two internationally-renowned experts on education and learning; Paul Collard and Paul Gorman. These men, and a representative from FORM, spent the entire day with me. At both the Secondary and Primary Campus, I showed them our College, explained our perspectives and initiatives and they had opportunity to converse with staff and students. Both guest speakers were tremendously impressed with the College and our staff, student and parent community. Thank you to all the parents who came out to be part of this event.
After their visit, Paul Gorman gave the following feedback to me; my reflections on your school is of a bold, visionary and pupil centered culture where everyone has agency because everyone's voice has a purpose within the community. The new buildings (at Parkerville) have been designed to nurture classrooms of the future which encourages pupils and teachers to share, collaborate, design, and think.
This is wonderful feedback to hear from someone with a wealth of knowledge about education. I’m looking forward to this relationship continuing.
