Friday 22 August was an exciting day of Cross Country running at Mundaring Christian College! After a large deluge the night before, there was some initial concerns that the track would be too wet; however, these concerns were quickly put to rest as the track was quite firm and continued to improve as the day continued.
This was also the first year that the Pre Primary students had run the Cross Country track and I know that everyone was impressed with how well they did. It was an excellent introduction to this great event that will see them in good stead for the years ahead.
All able bodied students in Year One to Ten competed in their year group throughout the day, with some impressive demonstrations of running displayed. Well done to all the students that participated in the day - it is quite an achievement to complete the Cross Country.
Thanks to all the students and staff that helped make the day the success that it was. Special thanks to Mrs Kerryn Utting and Mrs Deb Bowen for the assistance with running the event - it is always appreciated.
The Champion and Runner Up in each year group were presented with their medalllions at the whole College assembly held on Tuesday 26 August. Based on the results from the day, a number of our students will be representing the College at the upcoming WACSSA Cross Country Carnival, which I am sure they will really look forward to.
