On Thursday 29 November, we headed to Hills Discovery Centre for our 2018 Cadet Camp.
We learnt about the risks of fire and the cautions that we should take to prepare for bushfires. We then did team building activities such as a blind trail and a newspaper fashion show. We had dinner and played some night games like spotlight and statues. On Friday, we woke up at 6 am and packed up our tents. We looked at rescued animals and learned about their unique traits and facts. We volunteered in the community by cleaning up the environment. We took a bushwalk on the well-known Bibbulmun track and stopped to look at Mundaring Weir.
A highlight was getting to play and pat the Echidna, who really loved tummy rubs.
Another highlight was the newspaper fashion show. This was a highlight because some of the boys just wrapped their model in tape and the model couldn’t get out of it.
Thank you, Mr. Thyer and Mrs. Johns, for this camp.
It was really fun and a great experience, we learned a lot and became closer as a group.
