Below is a secondary school snapshot of the Year 7 and Year 9 cohorts compared against national, state, and SCEA results.
Out of ten measures (Reading, Writing, Grammar & Punctuation, Spelling, Numeracy in Years 7 and 9) we are at or above the national average in nine of them. MCC is represented by the green dot in the graphs below.
The consistency of MCC's above average results in Year 7 and 9 highlight our outstanding team of teachers. Our teachers typify the value added by the school from the time of the last test in Year 7, to May this year. Well done to Mrs Green (Numeracy) & Mrs Sorgiovanni (Literacy) and their teams, who do an excellent job helping our students succeed. We expect Year 7 writing to lift by Year 9 once the newly enrolled Year 7’s become accustomed to our school culture of academic rigour.
The Year 9 cohort has shown noticeable growth in Numeracy and Reading since Year 5 and have risen from a place at or below national averages to at or above (school line in green).
These graphs demonstrate that no matter where a child starts their journey at MCC, students are lifted to a place of improvement through their academic journey with us.
The hard work of your children should be acknowledged, and we appreciate the support and encouragement that you give to your children in what can sometimes be a stressful testing period.
If you have any questions about your child’s NAPLAN results, please contact me through the College reception.
