All things Jelly!

Posted by Christine Nolan | Found in: News

Our Kindy students had a lot of fun learning about the letter "J" this week.

Together they made jelly and were curious and excited to see the crystals change colour when the hot water was added. We had made lots of scientific hypotheses about what colour the crystals would become and what flavour the jelly would be. We wondered … why it changes colour and smells stronger? How long will it take to set? Why do we use hot water? … and most importantly, when can we eat it?
We graphed our favourite flavours/colours and then made individual jelly cups. The students not only enjoyed eating the jelly but also using their hands to explore the texture and describing how it felt and how it made them feel.
What a fun lesson it was!
