Book Fair 2019 – ‘Catch The Reading Wave’

Posted by Mrs Kirrily Donoghoe | Found in: News

What an amazing success our Book Fair was this year!

We sold $3,277 worth of books which then enabled us to receive $1,033 worth of books back to our school. Each class compiled a ‘wish list’ of the books they liked at the Fair so I was able to share out the value of these books across each class from Kindy to Year 6; each class receiving approximately $100 worth of books for their class libraries.

I think that what made this Fair such a success was that each class was given time to go and view the Book Fair display in the week leading up to our sale day, on Friday. They were able to record their own personal ‘Wish List’ to take home and discuss with parents. As a result, so many children came to the Fair knowing exactly what they wanted, complete with the exact money! The competitions were also a fun way of building up the excitement towards sale day, where numerous prizes were awarded – cash vouchers (towards purchasing books) and some sweet treats!

A huge thankyou to my willing helpers, Mrs Lindsay Rooney, Mrs Anja De Beer and of course ‘Clifford the Big Red Dog’! I wonder who will come and visit us next year??
