Students in Years Seven - Ten have been studying Chemistry in Science this term.
I must admit that I am rather pleased that we have left the Biology back in Term Two and are now study Chemistry. No more messy dissections! Colourful Chemistry...Almost as good as Physics!
Understanding how and why atoms join together the way that they do is fundamental if we wish to be good stewards of the world that God has put into our care.
Whether it is dealing with problems of acid rain, or finding better ways to preserve food, chemistry is involved. Year Nine students certainly enjoyed seeing how something as simple as red cabbage responds to varying levels of acidity and alkalinity.
This will definitely be one of my favourite terms.
