Composting Station Help Needed

Found in: News

We are almost ready to begin in the Composting Station at the Secondary Campus!

We have some lovely new compost bins and wire storage cages ready to convert all the food waste, left over from our cooking room and canteen, into nutrient-rich compost for our organic veggie gardens.

All thanks to the people at Waste Wise Schools who generously granted us funds to develop the Sustainability Hub! They also funded our chicken coop, which will house our new chooky residents from early next year.

What do we need?

We need to make great compost and in order to do so, we need to source animal manure, possibly horse, sheep or cow and used coffee grounds to mix with our food scraps.

If you can help with either of these, please contact Liz Johns on 9295 2843 or email ElizabethJ@scea.wa.edu.au
