Craftsmen in the making

Found in: News

MCC students in Years 11 and 12 Materials, Design, Technology (Wood) class have outdone themselves this year. This is the first year we have offered the WACE (General) course.

Under the excellent tutelage of Mr Nick Broughton, the products that our students have produced have been outstanding.

Secondary/Year11/Jake-Es-Bowl.JPGThe bowl shown (made by Jake E, Year 11), reveals an exceptional integration of two types of wood. Jake has demonstrated a high degree of craftsmanship through both his challenging design and attention to detail. His mum will be thrilled to have this on display at home we are sure!

Secondary/Year11/Table.jpgThe table shown (made by Wesley T) displays similar ingenuity and again, meticulous attention to detail in the finish applied. Wes’ mum, Mrs Tess O'Connor, who works in our office, said “We needed an occasional table for our living room. To have one made by Wes is just wonderful and I will treasure it for the rest of my life. He is so clever.”

We are very proud of both our students and their teacher. Great work!
