There has been great news from the creative hub of the Primary Campus.
Over the past few weeks Year Four and Five students have been working on entries for the Therapy Focus book illustration state-wide competition. Students selected a page from the book Outback Jack to illustrate, which is a story about a boy who has cerebral palsy and his courage and bravery to participate in the school's athletic carnival.
This year the competition received nearly 4,000 entries from 57 schools across the state. The panel of judges have completed the difficult task of choosing five finalist artworks for each page of the book, plus an additional five finalists for the cover – giving 100 finalists in total.
Mundaring Christian College students have done so well and have three students in the finals! Well done to Year Four students Brendan E, Griffin D and Year Five student Mia S.
An exhibition of the finalist artworks will be held at Westfield shopping centres in the July school holidays as follows:
Friday 1 – Sunday 3 July: Westfield Whitford City
Friday 8 – Sunday 10 July: Westfield Carousel
Friday 15 – Sunday 17 July: Westfield Innaloo
The community is invited to help select the 20 winning artworks to feature as illustrations in the published storybook by voting online at www.therapyfocus.org.au/artcomp. Voting commences at 9.00am on Friday 1 July and closes at 5.00pm on Sunday 17 July.
Please get behind the voting for our student entries, ask family members, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents to help vote.
