If you have always wondered what broad-beans are about, now is a great opportunity to taste fresh, organically grown broad-beans, grown at our Parkerville Campus.
Some are already podded for your convenience. They last for ages in the fridge or you can blanch the beans and freeze for later.
Wondering how to cook them? Simple!
- After podding, simply throw them into a casserole or stew. Adds lots of protein and nutrition.
- Lightly fry podded beans, mushrooms and chopped bacon in a little olive oil. Delish!
- Want to get fancy? Blanch podded beans for 1-2 minutes. When cool enough to handle, pop the inner dark green bean out of the seed coating. Easy to do and worth the extra effort.
Available for purchase on Wednesday 1 November between 3.00 – 3:30 p.m. from the Parkerville Campus.
