Literacy Corner

Since delivery of the new reading books to the Primary Campus, students have been very excited to share with me their enjoyment of reading them.

I thought “what better way to continue to share their enthusiasm than through the newsletter”. I have been encouraging students to write ‘Book Reviews’ about their favourite books, either from the Library or their new class collections. Here is the first instalment from one of our Year Two students who is an avid reader and writer herself:

Great Galloping Galoot By Stephanie Thatcher
Galoot was a clumsy giraffe. He was always tripping and bumping into things. Then lots of animals were sad because they couldn't swim to the other side of the river. Galoot offered to get the bridge. “You!” the animals laughed. “You great galloping galoot!” Galoot trips but he is never teased again. Written by Ayla S (Year Two).

You have to read the book yourself to find out what happens next!
