Parents of Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 will receive their students’ NAPLAN results in the mail within the next week. Overall, MCC students did extremely well.
For the last five years we have been on a steady improvement trajectory in each of the five areas (Numeracy, Reading, Writing, Spelling, and Grammar and Punctuation) for each of the four year groups.
As the tests are held in May and for alternate year groups, we realise there are three teachers responsible in each year group, for the improvements being made. For example, our outstanding results in Year 5 reflect the hard work of their Year 3 teacher from May to December 2015, their Year 4 teacher in 2016, and their Year 5 teacher from January to May 2017.
The mark on student reports that indicates the National Average, shows that for the majority of our students they are above this national average. For the 20 result areas (described above) we continue to be above the national average in 17 of them.
If you would like some help to understand your child’s results, please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s teacher
