On Wednesday, 17 October, our Primary Campus was visited by the Mad Food Science van.
The Mad Food Science Program educates children to start making better food choices straight away, using experiments, observations, and discussions to reinforce key health messages.
On Wednesday, all our students aged from 5 - 13 years old, were taken through a 90-minute school incursion. The mad food science program creates a fun environment for children to learn and explore ideas about food and health. Each new health idea was discussed with our students, before breaking up into class workstations to conduct experiments.
On the day of the program, each student had an up-close and personal experience of the experiments, everyone got to taste a green smoothie, and everyone learnt how to read a packet label. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the interactive nature of the workshop.
On completion, students received a handout with Mad Food Scientist experiments to conduct at home. Teachers were then given topics and activities for further classroom learning.
Thank you to all the Mad Food Science staff who came down to run the program with our students.
