Secondary Bush Ranger Cadets visit Lake Leschenaultia

Posted by Mr Ross Lambert and Mr Levi Roslin | Found in: News

The Bushranger Cadets have spent the last two weeks kayaking on our own oasis in the hills, Lake Leschenaultia.

Students had a lot of fun learning how to recover from a capsize, rescue a casualty, and paddle efficiently. We were blessed with beautiful sunny weather and students didn’t mind falling in, to practice these skills. In fact it was difficult to stop them falling in, once they realized how refreshing the water felt. Kayak polo was a hit with the students and definitely helped them to improve their paddling and capsize skills.

It is our hope that Bushranger cadets will see students’ develop a lifelong love of getting outdoors and that they will be able to do so safely and sustainably. As the weather begins to get cooler and wetter students will explore how to stay warm, dry and fed not matter what the elements do.
