With school bags packed with recess and stomachs packed with nerves, intrepid students from across the Hills Primary Schools descended onto MCC's Secondary Campus for our Year 7 Orientation Day.
What I love about these days, is the opportunity to reassure parents and children about the positive school culture and the amazing experiences they will face when they start with us next year. Everyone gets nervous, everyone needs friends, and we all need to know what is going to happen next year, when facing change. One of the things I wanted to frame for the students, is that Orientation Day is all about fellowship, building friendships, and becoming familiar with the College.
The current Year 6’s, soon to be year 7's, sampled electives in Food Technology and Computing & Robotics. They had the opportunity to get to know some of the current student leaders in Year 7 and Year 10, whilst enjoying in an afternoon of games. Students left the day excited to go home to tell their friends of the fun they had, encouraging their friends to join them at MCC next year.
Thank you to everyone who was involved on the day. I would like to give a special mentioned to the Hospitality staff and our teachers who coped with the multiple room changes! Thank you to all our parents for trusting us in partnership to educate your children. Let’s keep working together.
