The Before and After School Sport program is growing in leaps and bounds!
Before School Athletics: Nikki Carvahlo from Athletics Australia is two weeks into our four-week athletics program in Before School Sports. About 30 students from Pre-Primary to Year Six attend and develop the technical skills needed to improve their speed, strength and agility. Well done to all the students who continue to brave the cold mornings and give it their all during training. We are happy to see the children also enjoy a well-balanced breakfast before they start school. Thanks to everybody involved for your continued help and support. After School Gymnastics: Our After School gymnastics program has been going for two weeks now with a great deal of excitement! Over 80 students from Pre-Primary to Year Six participated in the first two sessions. We are greatly encouraged by the turn out and enthusiasm shown by all the students. Five Gymnastics Instructors run separate groups with two teaching staff present to supervise and ensure the smooth running of the program. Click here to watch a Gymnastics Program Video.
After School Basketball: Coach Phil Croot has been running a successful After School Basketball program for students from Years Two - Six every Wednesday during Term Three. Up to 40 students have been present to participate in an engaging and promising program that will help to set up MCC as one of the premier schools for basketball in the years to come. We are so grateful for Coach Croot and his professional approach in helping to develop an exciting sporting culture within our college.
As excited as we are about the current after school gymnastics and basketball programs, we are also looking ahead to next terms Before and After School programs for more variety for our students. Look out for a volleyball, badminton and hockey program next term and some exciting mixed games for our Before School program (+breakfast). Permission slips will be sent out next term for those programs. Thanks for all your support.
