The morning chill hung across the school as the calm was broken by the excitement of the Year 3 and 4 students.
The smell of smoke wafted through the air signalling the fire that was kindly prepared and lit by Mr Brough. Students then rolled damper around sticks and baked them over the fire whilst Mr Chan spoke about the importance of fire in the Aboriginal Culture. Students were then given an amazing tour around black cockatoo reserve by Mrs Cornish.
Students participated in a creative art expression organised by Mrs Blackwell along with amazing knowledge, experience and artefacts from the Aboriginal culture and community. The day ended with students putting their heads together to present as much information that they knew about Australia in a group discussion session. It was definitely an exciting day to start the term off.
