The Year 4s ventured over to the Parkerville Campus on Friday and camped overnight. Mr Nathan Blackwell and his amazing family volunteered their precious time to help build a kiln and fire some of the pots that we had made the week before. The experience of an open fire kiln was priceless. Especially when you are surrounded by beautiful nature. Students were excited to learn about energy transfer, along with an avalanche of knowledge shared by Mr Blackwell.
We experimented with games such as "human hungry hungry hippos" and pillow fights. No pillows or hippotamus's were injured throughout the night. Students also shared about the importance of working in a team and strategies on how to become better teammates. In the morning, we had the opportunity to watch the sun rise and students were playing basketball at 5.30am in the morning before packing up for breakfast and the journey home.
A very big thank you to Mr B, Mrs Wilson and Mr Blackwell for your amazing efforts and time given to making the year 4 campout a great success.
