Year 8 student cycles in the Australian Junior Road Nationals on the Gold Coast

Our very own Finlay M. (Year 8 student) recently attended the Australian Junior Road Nationals on the Gold Coast.

Angie McRobbie (Mother) writes:

"The race was held over 3 days, which included an Individual Time Trial, Road Race, and Criterium. Finlay set himself a goal for each race. Finlay’s goal was to place in the top 50% in the road race. On the day, he gained 15th place, falling inside the top 40% of those who raced! When it came to the Hilly Time Trial, Finlay's goal was to maintain an average speed of 30km/hr, which he managed. His Criterium goal was just to finish. Not only did he finish, but he came 2nd in the heat & made it to the Nationals final!! He finished averaging a speed of 37 km/per hour.

It was an amazing experience racing against the finest U15s in the country!"

We could not be more proud! Congratulations Finlay!
