I think it is so important to give students the opportunity to practice random acts of kindness.
During one of our recent extended PC programs the year 9 girls participated in ‘kindness day’. The girls were given a person in their PC group to show kindness to, while also eating pancakes. They were provided with a number of different items which included: balloons, Oreos, paper to make origami, lollies, string and colourful cups so that they could make gifts for each other. It was a lovely time where friendships were deepened and relationships built up; where people were encouraged and where each person’s creativity was as much a gift as the physical present they made. I hope that these girls continue to commit random acts of kindness and spread this into our community of already kind souls.
