Farewell, Mrs Cooper

Posted by Iona D., Year 5 | Found in: Primary

What’s an impressive amount of time to work at one place? How about 28 years! That’s how long Mrs Cooper has been at Mundaring Christian College to help us. We have known Mrs Cooper for ages and we will all miss her very much.

You will normally find Mrs Cooper working hard in the front office, but she has also worked as a pre-primary teacher and kindy assistant. No matter how busy she is, she’ll always be there to help you. But now after all these years of working hard, she will be retiring to spend time with her grandchildren.

When asked what she liked most about MCC, she said she enjoyed seeing the school grow and all the positive changes that have taken place. She also loved watching the students learn and grow from Pre-Kindy through to Year 6. She has enjoyed some excursions, including the eastern states trip. Mrs Cooper said she will miss being at school and miss everyone here.

In Mrs Cooper's final staff devotion, she left an invaluable message:
"Laughter is a blessing from the Lord. It’s the best stress-reliever there is. Through laughter, we can get through some of the darkest moments in life with a small smile. We can become closer with the people around us, celebrate moments of joy, and be thankful for the colleagues and friends we have. Laughter and smiles are the best universal communication available. Everyone understands the happiness that comes from laughter and its necessity in our daily lives. Today, laugh a little harder. Smile a little bigger. Appreciate the things that make you feel just that good."

Mrs Cooper, thank you for everything. We hope you have lots of laughter and good times when you retire.
