At the Formal Opening of MCC's Parkerville Stage 2A Campus, Chief of Staff Claire S. sat down to interview Minister Ken Wyatt and MLA Matthew Hughes. See the video in this article.
Only 3 years since the Mundaring Christian College Secondary Campus opened its doors to welcome students from years 7- 11 and we have already seen incredible growth. The 1st of August 2018 marked the official opening of part 2A of our secondary school, bringing with it some wonderful opportunities for our students.
As our school expands we are becoming recognised by the larger community. As a result, we have had the opportunity to draw some special VIPs to ceremonies such as that of the opening. For the first time, our Secondary Newspaper Staff of the newly dubbed MCC Inquirer had the chance to get up close and personal with two politicians who helped contribute to both MCC and the wider community. Mr Mathew Hughes and MP Ken Wyatt gave speeches, managed a quick coffee and then were brought to have face to face video interviews with Claire S. (The MCC Inquirer's Chief of Staff) as well as the rest of the team there on the day (Ben W, Asher L., Riley D. and Leah C).
Both spoke of the amazing developments at MCC and gave the students a real insight into the inner workings of the world of politics. They shared some of their morals, school stories, and knowledge to last a lifetime. One point rang true through both the speeches and the interviews:
“if you try, you can succeed at anything”
Whether it was the politics or the life advice we gained from these experienced politicians, the event was truly amazing. With our school growing at such a rapid rate, we hope to see more exciting opportunities opening up like this in the future and look forward to being able to share the overwhelmingly amazing experiences with everyone.
