Four teams of Year 5 and 6 boys and girls travelled to Willetton Basketball Stadium on Friday, 8 August, for the annual WACCSA Basketball Carnival. All teams competed in Division 1 and played with great effort and teamwork, recording some impressive wins along the way.
Our Year 6 Boys finished 4th overall, remaining competitive in every game and only narrowly missing out in some key matchups. The Year 6 Girls reached the playoff for third place and secured a strong win against their opponents. In an outstanding result for MCC, both our Year 5 teams were crowned Division 1 champions. The Year 5 Boys bounced back after an early loss to remain undefeated for the rest of the tournament, while the Year 5 Girls were the standout team of the day – winning and dominating every game they played.
All teams represented our College with pride and determination, and we look forward to building on this success in the years ahead. A special thanks goes to Mr Phil Croot, Mrs Lisa Sursok, volunteer coaches Lee J and Danni S, and our secondary referee helpers Uri A, Evan D, Elijah T and Kaiden S.
