The recent Secondary Leadership Camp was a highly valuable and encouraging three-day experience held at Camp Wattle Grove, bringing together our Year 12 student leaders alongside our Year 7–11 student leadership team and Christian Ambassadors. Throughout the camp, students had the opportunity to strengthen relationships, grow in unity, and further develop their leadership capacity within a supportive and Christ-centred environment.
A significant focus of the camp was on encouraging students to better understand the importance of servant leadership, teamwork, communication, and positive influence within the life of the College. Through a range of workshops, discussions, team activities, and reflection sessions, students were challenged to consider how they can continue to model courage, humility, integrity, and respect in the way they lead others.
The camp also provided an important opportunity for students to contribute thoughtfully to the future development of the College. Students spent time identifying areas where they believe improvements and new initiatives could further strengthen the student experience and community culture at MCC. It was extremely encouraging to see the maturity, creativity, and insight demonstrated by our student leaders throughout these discussions.
Several outstanding ideas and initiatives emerged from the camp, and we look forward to exploring and pursuing these opportunities in the months ahead.
