Year 12 HASS students visit Bodkin Park Living Stream

On Thursday, 28th of April, the Year 12 students braved the wet weather to conduct fieldwork at Bodkin Park Living Stream to examine its effectiveness in addressing the impacts of urban expansion and the expansion and intensification of agriculture. They took samples from the Living Stream, the Canning River, and the urban drain to compare the levels of oxygenation, salinity, and turbidity. Students also sampled the number of macroinvertebrates in each of the waterways. The Living Stream reduces the harmful impacts of urban expansion and creates places for people to enjoy recreational activities. It was a great day had by all!
