Year 7 Camp, 2022

There has been one thing we have learned over the past couple of years and that is the importance of being flexible. The past week was no exception. Recent COVID restrictions meant that our Year 7 students were not able to have an overnight camp at Ern Halliday Recreation Camp. However, these changes did not deter us from providing a range of engaging and exciting alternatives for our year 7’s. From February 14th – 16th, the year 7’s participated in a series of day excursions to camp Kerem in Bullsbrook, Lake Leschenaultia, and Outback Splash.

The kids had an awesome time participating in a wide range of adventure activities from a high ropes course, climbing wall, archery, team games, water activities, and self-defense classes. The day trips were designed to help the year 7’s to build relationships with staff and other students as well as learn more about themselves as they were pushed out of their comfort zones.

The response from our year 7’s was overwhelmingly positive with many of them saying that they had made new friends and their only disappointment was that it didn’t go for longer.
