The first year of the Building and Construction General course at MCC is well underway and already proving to be a success. Year 11 students are developing valuable hands-on skills through real-world projects, including the design and future construction of a new cubby house for the Early Learning Centre at our Primary Campus.
So far, students have dismantled the old structure, created design concepts, drafted AutoCAD plans, and built scaled prototypes. The next stage, construction, is set to begin soon, offering students the chance to bring their plans to life.
This course provides students with a meaningful opportunity to apply their learning while contributing to the school community. It’s a great example of how MCC is equipping students with practical skills and pathways for future success.
With the success of the Year 11 course, the program will continue in 2026, expanding to include Year 12. This will enable students to develop their skills further and enhance their industry readiness.
