This week, our MCC community celebrated Easter, reflecting on the true meaning of Jesus’ death and Resurrection.
One of the week’s highlights at the secondary campus was the Easter Walk-Through, which Mrs Caitlin Chodakowsky organised as part of the Living Well programme. This immersive experience guided students through five stations, illustrating key moments from the Easter story: the Garden of Eden, Pontius Pilate declaring Jesus innocent, the Crucifixion, the two thieves on the cross, and the Resurrection. The walk-through provided a personal way for students to reflect on Easter’s significance.
On Wednesday, the Secondary campus came together for the Easter Assembly. Pastor Jason shared a message about his faith journey and the meaning of Easter, followed by the MCC Secondary Band leading us in worship. The Secondary students also enjoyed other fun activities like scavenger hunts and Minute to Win It games. Each student also received a hot cross bun on Thursday.
At the Primary Campus, Year 2 students took part in a reenactment of the Last Supper, beautifully bringing to life this sacred moment in the Easter story, where Jesus shared His final meal with His disciples.
Our Year 6 student leaders also designed a creative way to share the Easter story, using 16 rocks, each representing a different part of the story. On one side of each rock, they wrote a segment of the story; on the other side, a painting illustrated the theme. Each class participated in a scavenger hunt to find the rocks, arrange them correctly, and enjoy Easter eggs afterwards. This fun initiative offered a meaningful way for students to engage with the Easter story.
Our Primary and Secondary campuses embraced the season’s significance with various activities that deepened students’ understanding of Christ’s sacrifice.
