Our Primary student leaders had the incredible opportunity to attend the Youth Leadership Academy Australia (YLAA) Dream and Lead Conference. The day was filled with inspiring speakers, valuable lessons, and practical leadership strategies.
We began by exploring what it means to be a leader and the key qualities great leaders possess. We learned strategies to overcome challenges and connect with new people through engaging discussions.
One of the day’s highlights was hearing from Isabella Choate, who spoke about self-leadership. A key takeaway from her session was the importance of staying curious and remembering that leadership is for everyone—no matter who you are.
We also had the privilege of learning from Will Massara, the founder of YLAA. He reminded us that age should never be an obstacle to making an impact or driving change.
After lunch, Tremane Baxter-Edwards shared a message about the importance of having a strong sense of belonging. One of his best advice was to “keep your fire blazing” by pursuing what you love.
Overall, the conference was an empowering experience, giving us valuable insights to bring back to our school community.
