Primary WACSSA Athletics Carnival

MCC Athletes Excel at WACSSA Field & Track Carnival

On Tuesday, 5 November, the Years 3–6 MCC Field Events team arrived at the Gerry Archer Athletics Stadium with energy and enthusiasm, ready to compete. The athletes gave their all, securing top-four finishes in several events.

Notable performances included Judd H. (Year 4), who took first place in the 800m race and long jump and second in the shot put. Catanya C. (Year 4) also dominated her events, finishing first in the 800m, shot put, and long jump. These strong results put MCC in a fantastic position heading into the Track Carnival, held just days later.

On Friday, 8 November, our Year 3–6 track athletes made their way to the WA Athletics Stadium, the iconic home of athletics in WA. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as our athletes, particularly the Year 3s, pushed past their nerves and gave their all, earning valuable points for the MCC team. The team earned nine first-place ribbons, including a victory in the Year 5 girls’ 100m relay.

We were proud to celebrate four individual champions: Sunny E. (Year 5), Catanya C. (Year 4), Judd H. (Year 4) and James W. (Year 3), with James breaking the 800m record! In a highly competitive Division 2, MCC finished a solid second place, narrowly missing out on first to Emmanuel. It was a fantastic way to wrap up our athletics season. Well done, MCC athletes—your hard work and commitment really showed.
