Year 6 GT Students Shine at Synergy Schools Solar Challenge

The Year 6 gifted and talented group has been busy preparing for our school’s Synergy Schools Solar Challenge entry. They worked together to design a solar car and experimented with variables like wheel size, gear size, and panel placement. Four students—Edith, John, Madeline, and Sia—were chosen to represent the group at the interschool event.

At the event, teams from 32 schools had 60 minutes to build a car from scratch. After completing their vehicles, they competed in rounds of races to reach the final. While our car didn’t reach the final, our team’s performance was impressive. They were the first team to build their car in just 30 minutes!

I am incredibly proud of the teamwork, knowledge, and skill shown by Edith, John, Madeline, and Sia on race day. They were a credit to MCC, and their sportsmanship and determination were exceptional. I also want to acknowledge the dedication and collaboration of the entire Year 6 GT group during preparations.
