On Tuesday, MCC had the privilege of hosting 20 staff members and students from the CAPS School in Coolgardie. The group included Aboriginal students from Kalgoorlie, the Kimberley region, the Northern Territory, and Queensland, who spent the day engaging with our College community.
The visit began with a tour of the school, followed by morning tea. Students then headed to the mountain bike trails, where they enjoyed the variety of tracks and jumps on offer.
Several MCC students who had participated in previous trips, along with some of our Indigenous students, joined the CAPS students for a pizza lunch before everyone travelled to the Mundaring Arena for a game of basketball. The MCC girls’ team was evenly matched against the CAPS girls, while the MCC boys, who had the height advantage, held a slight edge over the highly skilled CAPS boys’ team.
Students from both schools thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play together, build friendships, and share experiences. The afternoon concluded with a time of prayer and warm farewells.
